Installs, modifies, moves, troubleshoots, repairs and dismantles machinery and equipment according to requisition documentation, layout plans, blueprints or other drawings | Prepares installation site by constructing foundations and aligns and fastens machinery to the foundation using hoists, dollies, rollers, trucks, tools, squares, rules and micrometers | Performs operational tests on newly installed, modified, repaired and moved machinery and equipment to ensure that it meets technical specifications | Fabricates metal parts for prototype equipment based on drawings | Programs PLCs (programmable logic controllers)
The primary focus of the Senior Automation Engineering Specialist is to architect and build SCADA/MES solutions using Ignition, including designing HMI screens, setting up Tag Historian for data collection, and implementing reporting and alarm notification features. Other duties include but are not limited to, implementing data integration through the Ignition platform with various databases using SQL, utilizing programming languages like Python and JavaScript to develop custom functionality and automate processes, performing routine maintenance, software updates, system backups, and troubleshooting malfunctions and software bugs to ensure system uptime and performance.

Provides financial management and support for program lifecycle. Ensures fiscal accountability by monitoring budget forecasting, reporting, and compliance. Focuses on financial analysis and cost control to drive program health and business decisions.
Prepares and distributes periodic financial statements for users other than those directly employed by the organization. Ensures all reports and disclosures comply with applicable government regulations, professional standards and organization policies. Consolidates divisional and subsidiary financial accounts in a timely and accurate basis for inclusion in internal and external financial statements. Conducts or assists in the documentation of accounting projects. Develop and establish specific accounting practices and policies for teams to follow to ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting policies. Collaborate with GD-OTS location finance personnel on accounting matters and to provide financial support.
Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical) | Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield | Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance) | Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems | Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures. Production equipment includes CNC lathes, draw benches, mechanical presses, ovens, cranes, and chemical lines. Facilities maintenance will also be required.
