Provides technical oversight for DoD ammunition production programs through production support, continuous improvement, ensuring compliant, on-schedule delivery and resolving technical issues to maintain safety and meet all contractual requirements. Responsible for designing, implementing and reviewing the procedures, equipment, and tools involved in the manufacturing process. Their duties include researching automation techniques, testing new systems for efficiency and planning factory layouts to optimize production.

You will be performing daily chemical analysis, Monitor and control bath chemistry (pH, temperature, concentration, titration levels). Maintain all process documentation and production records. Troubleshoots control panels, error lights and messages to ensure proper equipment function. May communicate with equipment technicians relating to highly complex issues. Operate and maintain zinc phosphate plating baths and rinse tanks for conductivity

Analyzes engineering specifications or blueprints to define the dimensions and features of the metal part to be produced. Determines the optimal tool path for fabricating the part by selecting appropriate machine tools (e.g., lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, boring machines, etc.) and specifying the sequence of tool operations. Manually sets up/adjusts machine tools. Recommends revisions in design and/or substitutions in material based on machinability or fabrication problems
Participates in the development and fulfillment of contract requirements in the purchase or sale/delivery of equipment, materials, products or services. Evaluates contract compliance and advises others on contractual rights and obligations | Requests or approves amendments to contract terms or contract extensions. Prepares bids or requests for proposals (RFPs), including specifications and requirements; negotiates contract terms and participates in the determination of acceptable bids.***please note: because this role involves collaborative/in-person and independent work, it can take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely for the ideal scenario***

Installs, modifies, moves, troubleshoots, repairs and dismantles machinery and equipment according to requisition documentation, layout plans, blueprints or other drawings | Prepares installation site by constructing foundations and aligns and fastens machinery to the foundation using hoists, dollies, rollers, trucks, tools, squares, rules and micrometers | Performs operational tests on newly installed, modified, repaired and moved machinery and equipment to ensure that it meets technical specifications | Fabricates metal parts for prototype equipment based on drawings | Programs PLCs (programmable logic controllers) Experience with Lathe and Mill machines
