Overview

General Dynamics- OTS is pleased to present a Program Management Summer internship within the Munition Systems division. Interns will be assigned to a Program Manager to assist with current initiatives as well as proposal efforts to win new business, both international and domestic, with exposure to all facets of program management, including Operations, Supply Chain Management, Quality Assurance, Product Engineering, Financial Reporting, and Research & Development, as applicable. Interns will also participate in making decisions in a results-oriented, time-sensitive environment. This internship is modeled on the full-time position of a Program Administrator, and will provide exposure to a multitude of functional areas within the organization, allowing for great future opportunities and career development.

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Attend all internal Integrated Program Team (IPT) meetings, take meeting minutes, and update Action Item Registers
  • Create the initial draft of the US Government IPT slides and other internal reporting
  • Provide assistance during the proposal process supporting the Program Managers in leading bid efforts and developing a capture strategy
  • Develop the Process Map for recently awarded programs and assist in Master Planning and Scheduling activities
  • Attend Operations, Safety, and Program Execution meetings
  • Participate in Failure Analysis & Corrective Action investigations
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Detail Oriented and Time Management Skills Required
  • Must have good organizational, writing and presentation skills, and have strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently, as well as be a team player and work in an integrated team environment
  • Maintains an understanding of related disciplines and functions involved in the Marion locations businesses and their interrelationships with the requirements of assigned contracts
  • Good computer and organizational skills, good verbal and written communication skills, be a self-starter with the ability to work independently, and proficient in MS Office programs

 

Education/Experience:

  • Currently completing or has completed Bachelor’s degree
  • Due to licensing with the BATFE and ITAR requirements, all candidates must be 18 years of age and a US person.
