Overview

This position works under direct supervision and performs a variety of assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and/or sub-assemblies.

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
  • Perform changeovers, maintain set-up and operate a variety of equipment such as presses, paint spray booths, parts washers, soldering, etc.
  • Degrease, clean and oil weapon components using various types of chemical cleaners, oils, hot water, etc.
  • Performs work from established written work instructions, diagrams and drawings, and uses hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws.
  • May operate presses and perform basic lathe operation.
  • Make continuity checks on work in process. Monitors work during assembly to identify defects in raw materials and in accordance with work instructions.
  • May conduct inspections during assembly to identify defects in accordance with work instructions.
  • Pack out finished product/component as required.
  • May be responsible for opening up and shutting down the production building and act as a backup for the Building Team Lead.
  • Cross trained to support production work in multiple areas and may be approved to train other employees.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations, and keeping work area clean and free of FOD.
  • May operate a Forklift

Basic Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) including a minimum of three (3) years in manufacturing experience Provide or obtain a Career Ready Certificate or Wage Certificate within one year of start date.
