Overview

Join our team in St. Petersburg, FL!  We are seeking an Associate Business Development Manager to support our strategic planning and new business capture efforts within the Precision Systems Strategic Business Unit.

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Develops strategies for establishing partnerships with customers for specific products and programs building company strengths, identifying potential new markets and business opportunities increasing share of market and obtaining a competitive position in the industry.
  • Develops and validates viable business models for business partnerships and acquisitions while shaping future development and procurement strategies.
  • Seeks out and researches prospective programs through phone calls, travel, tactical/strategic customer visits attending conferences, and utilizing the Internet to grow, and influence, the relationships and Opportunities.
  • Works closely with internal departments, such as marketing and engineering, and external partners and allies in the development and implementation of the organization’s objectives and future procurement strategies, strategic plans, orders forecast and business models through analyzing and research.
  • Creates financial projections, secure funding, for growth and profitability of future programawards.
  • Estimates demand for proposed programs based on production schedules, market research, and consumer trends.
  • Conducts detailed economic analysis and surveys in foreign countries to locate market for strategic business unit product portfolio.
  • Works to ensure requirements are defined and met according to plan while tracking all upsides and hopper opportunities.
  • Provides support to upper management in deal negotiations, contract development, due diligence, and other business development or alliance development projects.
  • Anticipate award timing changes and maintain a CE that reflects the proper award amount and timing each month.
  • Works with marketing to plan marketing and promotion, including advertising, review media, specials sales, and subsidiary rights.
  • Coordinates development of Technical and Capability Roadmaps.
  • May leadand pursues Other Transaction Authority strategic and adjacent market pursuits, under direction of Manager/Director.
  • Attends bid reviews to ensure consumer message and budget is properly translated.
  • Participates in IRAD meetings to ensure transition of the customers’ needs into profitable investments, while making customers aware of our new technologies.
  • Responsible for establishing, developing and demonstrating at trade shows that showcase product portfolios in industry trade associations.
  • Facilitates customer visits to GDOTS facilities.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from 4 year college or university in related field (e.g., business, marketing, engineering); Min of 3-5  years of combined engineering, business development/marketing experience.

Able to travel domestically and internationally greater than 50%.  Ability to obtain a security clearance.
