Overview

Manages program to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance.

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Confers with staff to explain program and individual responsibilities for functions and phases of program.
  • Directs and coordinates activities concerned with implementation and carrying out objectives of program.
  • Reviews reports, data and records of activities to ensure progress is being accomplished, costs are diminished and objectives of the program achieved.
  • Work closely with manufacturing to ensure that all facets of the program will meet the required standards.
  • Evaluation of request for proposal and /or quote.
  • Preparation and rationale for bid/no bid.
  • Cost and capital requirement preparation including cost to bid (B&P).
  • Coordinate with customer to ensure all requirements are met in the products and services supplied. Maintain customer relations.
  • Other duties as requested.

Basic Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Science, or Management.

 

Experience: Minimum of 7 years experience in program management

 

Special Knowledge, Skill Abilities:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and mentor.
  • May specialize in managing governmental programs. 

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write presentations and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups is required.

 

Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equation and permutations.   Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis. Ability to perform basic financial cost analysis, percentages and rate calculations.

 

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
