Research and analyze data such as customer design requirements, specifications, and manuals to support the design, development and production of weapon systems. Efforts include determining the feasibility of design or application.
Designs products or systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines, and mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, or heat transfer systems.
Plans and directs fabrication of test control apparatus, equipment and instrumentation.
Directs fabrication of test assets and testing to ensure product conforms to customer specifications.
Prepares Technical Data Packages (TDP).
Coordinates efforts between engineering disciplines.
Writes Assembly instructions, test plans and reports.
Oversees weapons testing and interpretation of results.
Designs products and systems to interface requirements for hardware and software.
Evaluates field installations and recommends design modifications.
Other duties as assigned.
This position may have supervisory responsibilities.
The incumbent must be able to lead a technical team of more than 3 employees in the engineering department
BS degree in engineering required, graduate level degree in engineering or related field preferred and a minimum of 10 years related experience or equivalent.
