**The hourly rate for this position is $29.70 per hour**
The Range Technician/Inspector position conducts proof firing tests on various weapon systems to evaluate performance to include complete disassembly and assembly of the weapons, adjustments, and recording of data. Follows established company directives, policies, military specifications, quality documents and manufacturing instructions.
Perform visual and manual examination, tests and adjustment. Places weapon in fixtures, mounts or may manually hold smaller calibers for test firing. Fires weapon specified number of times manually or by remote control to test its function. May perform mechanical adjustments, and repairs to items being tested and accessory equipment.
Operates an electrical cart to transport weapons to ammunition.
Coordinates closely with facility range master, engineering range master, plant safety supervisor, and DCMA personnel.
Must be constantly aware of prescribed safety procedures such as restricted access of personnel, unobstructed exits from operating area, loading, firing, and clearing of weapons, ammunition handling, storage, and limitations, warning alarms, etc. Follows established checklists on emergency procedures and must be knowledgeable of fire extinguishing agents, classes of fire, and incipient stage firefighting techniques. Ensures good housekeeping procedures to eliminate potential safety and fire hazards on a daily basis.
