Job Summary
Assists chemists and chemical engineers conducting chemical and physical laboratory tests using instrumental techniques in making qualitative and quantitative analyses of solids, liquids and gaseous materials related to product development or quality control of production processes or products | Performs quantitative and qualitative analyses in organic, inorganic, physical, analytical chemistry, photochemistry or electrochemistry to determine the chemical and physical properties of materials, liquids and gases

Essential Functions
- Determines the physical and chemical properties of compounds and materials using quantitative and qualitative chemical analysis.
- Performs a variety of chemical tests using instrumental methods and standard test equipment.
- Prepares materials for laboratory examination and conducts quality, safety, and compliance assessments.
- Follows established SOPs.
- Sets up and maintains lab equipment.
- Records and tabulates data and documents observations and results.
Required Qualifications
- Required education and experience: Attending a Vocational / Technical School or internal training program OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & Experience or Skillset; No prior experience needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree
- Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred
- Knowledge, skills & abilities: Analytical chemistry. Calibration. Laboratory equipment operation. Precision measurement. Sample collection. Record keeping. Laboratory equipment maintenance. Scientific testing. Test monitoring. Standard operating procedure.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
- This position is Safety-Sensitive.
