Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Machinists to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating CNC machines to fabricate and assemble precision parts, ensuring high-quality production standards. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes and the ability to work with various machines and materials. The CNC Machinist will play a crucial role in maintaining production efficiency and quality control. All skill levels welcome to apply.

Essential Functions

  • Assists with the installation, operation, testing, and adjustment of various types of conventional or automatic machines used to produce precision parts and instruments.
  • Fabricates and modifies parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
  • Machines parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
  • Measures, examines, and tests completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree
  • Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Mathematical skills. Technical expertise. Manual dexterity. Physical Stamina. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Leadership skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
  • May be requested to work a different shift.
  • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
  • This position is Safety-Sensitive.
