Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers and prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services and supplies for customer-related business processes or for internal use as a generalist or in a combination of Purchasing Disciplines.

Major Position Responsibilities

This position will be located at the new GD-OTS facility located in Mesquite, TX. 

This position is required to be on-site. 

 

 

SUMMARY: Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers and prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services and supplies for customer-related business processes or for internal use as a generalist or in a combination of Purchasing Disciplines.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide

    the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume,

    availability, and pricing.

  • Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for

    monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or

    disruptions in the supply chain.

  • Collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and

    manage inventory levels.

  • Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase

    responsiveness to material demands.

  • Oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any

    applicable industry or governmental regulations.

  • Leads and manages the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel

    actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from

    HR & General Managers

Basic Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associates Degree and/or Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education and Experience
  • 7-8 years prior experience in a similar position
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree with discipline/major in Business, Supply Chain or related degree preferred.

Preferred

  • Experience with start ups, such as project planning, and establishing business processes, management systems, and work instructions is desired. This is an exciting opportunity to create the business processes, systems, and culture to stand up a high performing manufacturing operation. 

 

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. 
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

 

Travel Requirements
