Summary:

 

Prepares / reviews pricing estimates and creates complex program baselines and program analysis for the Business Unit (BU), financial and accounting analysis including the review, analysis, interpretation and/or evaluation of budgets, cost, pricing, etc.

 

Performs a variety of financial activities, including accounting, financial analysis, audit, tax, credit and collections. Develops and evaluates financial plans and policies. Establishes and maintains accounting, financial, and reporting policies and controls.

 

Major Position Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages multiple financial functions in an organization.
  • Establishes internal controls for monitoring assets, capital investments, controlling costs, and measuring liquidity.
  • Liaisons with senior leadership from accounting on matters of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
  • May summarize the financial status of the organization; interprets asset ratios, break-even analysis reports, profit margins, operating costs, stock value (if applicable), and other metrics used in measuring fiscal stability.
  • Advises Operations, Marketing, HR, IT, and other departments on matters of internal controls and/or budget approval and ROI for specific projects.
  • Leads audits and makes certain that financial reporting is completed properly, and that all documentation follows applicable regulations (including GAAP, FASB, or SEC mandates).
  • Establishes, evaluates, and recommends changes to Finance policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization's long-term success.
  • Coaches, mentors and provides general support/leadership to the organization on Finance best practices.

Basic Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Associate’s degree
  • 8-10 years’ experience required in a relevant function
  • OR equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • MBA highly desired
  • Accounting/cost estimating work experience related to program control, program finance/accounting and/or pricing of government and commercial contracts
  • Proficient in ProPricer
  • Integrated Program Manager (IPM)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
  • Knowledge of financial management principles, program planning, Earned Value (EV) reporting for government contracts, budgeting and practices

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential

Travel Requirements:

  • Less than 25% travel likely
