Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst works alongside the Sr. Director of Financial Planning to provide strategic support to senior OTS management and corporate stakeholders. The primary responsibilities of this position are preparing and coordinating the key financial planning processes (Current Estimate, Strat Plan, Home Office Budget, etc.) and providing key technical guidance and expertise on ad-hoc financial analysis for senior management. This role also prepares and coordinates the financial planning deliverables to corporate headquarters (QBR, Plan, President’s Report, etc.). The ability to accurately synthesize data and problems into a concise packaged presentation in tight deadlines for senior leadership is paramount. This key role allows high potential employees to develop management and leadership skills while continuing to improve FP&A processes and build relationships across the organization. 

 

 

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Conducts quantitative analyses of information affecting budgets, expenses, and other financial projects of public or private institutions
  • Collects and analyzes financial information for assigned accounts, products or product lines, or business units in order to track the organization's progress against financial goals.
  • Reports current or expected financial performance and creates financial models to guide decision making.
  • Analyzes cash flow, expenditures, revenue, depreciation, and investments to make recommendations for action and/or modifications regarding financial procedures, plans, and controls.
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, or annual financial statements.

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Manage the scoping and implementation of OTS’ financial planning processes within a new ERP system (IFS).
  • Assist other headquarters finance functions as needed (financial reporting, internal audit, tax, government accounting, etc.).
  • Cross-train in other finance/accounting related positions to support OTS senior leadership on an as needed basis (month/quarter/year-end financial close).

Basic Qualifications

  • Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience or Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills. Analytical thinking skills. Statistical knowledge. Detail oriented. Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Critical professional related technical skills: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
  • Discipline/Major: Business, Finance or Accounting degree preferred.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

 

Travel:

  • Less than 25% travel likely.
