Overview

Applies project management principles to legal services. Plans, organizes, and monitors legal tasks to achieve desired goals. Defines parameters of a legal project upfront, planning the course of the project along with critical deadlines. Manages the project and from end to end and evaluates how the scope of work and tasks were completed. Allocates resources as necessary to meet deadlines. Provides a systematic approach to the planning, controlling, and completion of legal work within a clearly understood framework.

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Manages aspects of legal projects throughout the project lifecycle: planning, scope definition, design, execution, and delivery.  
  • Liaises between project members, cross-functional teams and other stakeholders to ensure deliverables, requirements, schedules, cost, and meeting plans are communicated.  
  • Utilizes appropriate tools to plan project timelines, tasks, milestones, and deadlines.  
  • Prepares agendas, meeting notes, legal documents and project summaries.  
  • Tracks progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, or other performance indicators, and prepares reports for leadership.  
  • Monitors task completion status to identify at risk project tasks and to develop mitigation plans.  
  • Utilizes legal knowledge to define and execute on projects that convert strategies into results-driven actions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 2-4 years’ experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevent Education &/ or Experience
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills. Fit/Gap Analysis. Needs Analysis. Project Management. Project Controls. Project Development. Project Documentation.   • Critical professional related technical skills: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

Travel:

  • Less than 25% travel likely.
