Overview

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), a premier provider to the US Department of Defense and allied nations, is seeking a Director, Supply Chain, with aerospace/defense experience, to join our Healdsburg or Folsom, California team.

The Director, Supply Chain provides leadership to multiple matrixed teams across Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, Finance and the Program Management Office to drive improved supplier performance. This position is for an experienced supply chain management professional, with experience in the aerospace/defense industry, managing relationships with key suppliers to drive on time delivery of products and leading projects focused on optimizing procurement practices, subcontract management and supplier performance. This role performs supply chain and logistics functions such as material procurement, production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection and distribution. This position creates integrated processes among internal functions (e.g., operations, purchasing and logistics) and outside suppliers. Responsibilities are within the Supply Chain and Logistics Function as a generalist or in a combination of disciplines.

This is a full-time on-site position.

*We are on a 9/80 schedule (9 hour days Monday - Thursday, alternating Fridays off, opposite Fridays 8 hour days). 

Major Position Responsibilities

The Director, Supply Chain leads the implementation and execution of the Supply Chain strategy. In this capacity, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages the supply chain activities of an organization.

  • Establishes internal controls for monitoring assets, capital investments, controlling costs, and measuring liquidity.

  • Assists with overseeing tasks related to production planning, materials purchasing, inventory control, price setting, vendor selection, and distribution.

  • Monitors the movement of raw materials, in-process goods, or completed merchandise to ensure that production needs or customer expectations are met.

  • Collects data and prepares analyses designed to forecast demand or predict inventory needs.

  • Maintains contact with vendors and submits purchase orders or requisitions to ensure a continuous supply of goods.

  • Evaluates existing supply chain processes, implementing changes when necessary to improve efficiency and overall performance.

  • Documents the performance of supply chain staff and overall processes.

  • Administers departmental policies and procedures, evaluates results and performance, and assists with the development of new or modified budgets, strategic plans, or policies

  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & General Managers.

Basic Qualifications

  • Associates Degree, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • Bachelors Degree preferred, Business or Supply Chain Management preferred
  • 8 - 10 years of experience
  • Leadership skills, judgement, creativity, organizatinal skills
  • Proficient in MS Office 

Pay Range (USD)

$125,125.00 - $232,375.00 annually

Pay Transparency Statement

The salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum for salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the range during the hiring process.

Additional Compensation - ICP

Hired applicant will be eligible to participate in the Company’s Incentive Compensation Program.

PTO, Holiday, and Family Leave
