The Red Lion Team is seeking a Sr Welder on First (1st) shift.

Summary:

Welds all types of commonly used metals and alloys of various sizes, shapes and thicknesses, including dissimilar metals such as copper to steel | Operates various hand-welding, flame-cutting, hand-soldering or brazing equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations or seams of fabricated metal products | May set up, operate and/or tend to robots that weld, braze, solder or heat treat metal products, components or assemblies.

Major Position Responsibilities

Essential Duties: 

  • Join various metal parts to form permanent bonds.
  • Welds metal components and parts using specialized equipment such as gas welders and gas torches.
  • Uses electrical currents to create heat and bond metals.
  • Plans work by interpreting blueprints.
  • Observes tests on welded surfaces to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications.

Basic Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Vocational/Technical Training Degree
  • Equivalent combination of relevent education &/or experience
  • 3-5 years prior experience in a similar position

Knowledge. Skills, & Abilities: 

  • Technicial expertise
  • Planning skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Manual dexterity 
  • Welding and Fabrication experience (Aluminum, Titanium, and Stainless Steel)

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Associates Degree/Technical Training
  • Mechanical background

Physical Demands: 

  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
  • May be requested to work a different shift.
  • Other job-specific working conditions: Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.

 

Travel Requirements: 

  • No or very little travel likely.
