The Electrical Engineer II:  Plans and implements the design, manufacture, installation and/or maintenance of electrical systems and apparatus, such as electric motors, machinery controls, lighting, wiring and power systems/devices, for the generation, transmission and control of electric power

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and tests electrical equipment, components, circuits, or systems.
  • Applies mathematical and engineering principles and methods to designs.
  • Performs extensive testing and validation of designs to ensure reliability, performance, and safety standards are achieved.
  • Conducts research and studies new technologies to innovate and design solutions or products.

Basic Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: Associates Degree and 2 - 4 years' experience

Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree

Discipline/Major: Electrical Engineering or other Engineering degree required

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Oral and Written Communication. Analytical Thinking. Circuit Design. Computer Simulation. Design Optimization. Electrical Engineering. Mathematical Analysis. Mathematical Modelling. Programming. Prototyping. Reliability Analysis. Requirements Engineering/Analysis. Research and Development. Schematic Capture. Electro-Mechanical Components/Instruments. CAD Software. Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Software. Interest in supporting the full range of product development from concept through final test. Hands-on experience troubleshooting components, electrical assemblies, and test equipment.

 

Travel Requirements:  Less than 25% travel likely.
