General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), a premier provider of ordnance weapons and tactical systems to the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations, has an opening for a Quality Assurance Sr Specialist (QA Sr Specialist) to join our Saco, ME team.

The QA Sr Specialist: Follows policies, procedures, and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components and/or operations | Follows and/ or develops, assures and maintains the quality of products and processes through standard procedures & systems (e.g., ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14000 & AS9100 standards), quality audits/ review process, etc. Responsibilities are within the Quality Assurance Methods Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Prepares and implements quality assurance policies, procedures & review cycles
  • Manages internal audit program; internal & customer required audit schedules, leads audits, and creates audit reports
  • Evaluates audit findings and aids in the implementation of appropriate corrective actions
  • Maintains and improves Quality Management System and generate reports as needed
  • Creates, updates & leads Quality training as needed
  • May administer the material review boards & database
  • May also lead or support various projects as assigned

Basic Qualifications

Required Education:  Associates Degree and/or Equivalent combination of relevant education & experience

Preferred Education:  Bachelor's Degree

Discipline/Major:  Quality or related degree preferred

 

Years and Area of Experience:  5 -7 years of relevant experience

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Batch Testing. Inspection. Nondestructive Testing. Product QA. Quality Assurance Process. Quality Improvement. Quality Inspection. Quality Management System (QMS). Technical expertise in composites manufacturing, supplier quality engineer experience, first article inspection reports, root cause problem solving, internal auditing, process capability assessments, continuous improvement methods - lean manufacturing or six sigma, effective communication skills cross-functionally both internally and with suppliers, ability to travel to suppliers, represent GD-OTS with professionalism, integrity and collaboration, be self-directed and proactively lead projects as needed.

Pay Range (USD)

$74,550.00 - $138,450.00

The salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum for salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the range during the hiring process.

Additional Compensation

Hired applicant may be eligible to participate in the Company’s Gain Sharing Program.

PTO, Holiday, and Family Leave
