Overview

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), a premier provider to the US Department of Defense and allied nations, is seeking a Senior Inspector Operator to join our Folsom, California team. This position rovides technical support to the quality and quality engineering (QE) functions. This position conducts quality control (QC) inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc., at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards. Additionally this role captures and analyzes statistical data from processes to either confirm compliance with established standards or identify deviations from standards. The x recommends new or enhanced methods, procedures and standards.

 

The ideal candidate will be proficient in the use of Standard Measurement Instruments (SMI) such as but not limited to, CMM, optical comparator, microscopes, calipers, micrometers and height gauges. They will also have a basic understanding of AS9100/ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and AS9102 First Article Process, and a strong understanding of GD&T (Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing) in accordance with ASME Y14.5-2009 and Zeiss CMM experience using Calypso software.

*We are on a 9/80 schedule (9 hour days Monday - Thursday, alternating Fridays off, opposite Fridays 8 hour days). This is a full-time on-site position. This role will start out as a temporary position with the option of the candidate applying to become a regular full-time GD-OTS employee after 90 days.

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Performs repetitive and routine inspections, checks, tests and sampling procedures of standard parts, units, equipment, or materials.
  • Performs inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies or finished company products according to well-defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/or electrical measurements.
  • Reworks or rejects subassemblies or finished products as required.
  • Performs audits to ensure standards of quality are maintained.
  • Documents the results of the inspections and testing.
  • Coordinates calibration of test equipment and fixtures.
  • Assists with inspection procedures, protocol and checklists.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3-5 years comparable experience
    • or equivalent combination of relevant education &/or experience

Pay Range (USD)

$44,275 - $82,225
