The Garland Team is seeking a Sr. Operator on Third (3) Shift.

Major Position Responsibilities

Position: Sr. Operator - Shot Blast

Shift: 3rd

Pay: $24.26 hourly

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Adhere to plant safety rules, recognize and bring to the attention of supervision potential safety hazards, and implement corrective actions to unsafe practices and/or conditions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to input data into Company computerized production tracking software.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use small hand tools as required.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use of standard measuring equipment as required by job duties.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to execute work instructions and the willingness to work in multiple areas as required by rotating assignments.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use small hand tools and learn how to operate a forklift when required testing has been successfully completed.
  • Functional math skills required to complete job tasks.
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn the use of all gages and instruments required to related job tasks.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in elevated temperatures, thick smoke, dirt and grease.
  • Physically able to lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Absentee record within company standards
  • Increasing number of skills and cross training completed throughout at least one (1) year of work experience and ability to perform work as required within time standard efficiency for each operation.
  • Produce quality work while maintaining operating efficiencies.
  • Additional job requirements may be specified by the hiring manager as required.

 

Basic Qualifications

Skills and qualifications required including but not limited to the following:

 

  • High school education or equivalent combination of experience
  • Must be capable of operating multiple types of metal cleaning equipment including automated and manual cabinets.
  • Capable of troubleshooting equipment and working with maintenance to resolve all downtime issues.
  • Must be able to use all shot blast equipment including wheelabrator and manual cabinets. 
  • Prior experience in industrial manufacturing/shot blast perferred. 

*** MUST HAVE VALID DRIVERS LICENSE

 

Work Environment:

  • Elevated temperatures, thick smoke, dirt and grease.
  • Physically able to lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Handling materials up to 900 degrees with proper tools.
  • High paced production environment to meet standards.
