Overview

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, a premier provider of ordnance weapons and tactical systems to the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations, has an opening for an onsite Talent Acquisition Specialist 1 to join the Business Unit HR team, located in St. Petersburg, FL

This individual will be required to source, recruit, screen, interview and recommend external and/or internal candidates for all level jobs, including entry level, experienced professional/technical, IT, support staff and hourly, and possibly management. May utilize the services of employment agencies. Place employment ads in appropriate sources, including the Internet and print media. Ensure the maintenance of accurate and concise records and reports concerning all phases of the recruitment process, including EEO statistics. May recruit from colleges, technical schools and job fairs.

 

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Strategically and proactively sources passive and active candidates to build and maintain a quality talent pipeline for current and future workforce needs.
  • Understands external labor market conditions.
  • Leverages effective, economical, and appropriate sources/channels and methods.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with potential candidates, recruitment agencies and associations.
  • Plans and coordinates participation in career fairs to generate a source of qualified potential candidates.
  • Reviews resumes and contacts candidates to ascertain fit and interest and refers to hiring managers as appropriate.
  • Extends offers and negotiates compensation.
  • May participate in onboarding and facilitate new employee orientation.
  • Provides support in planning and strategizing future workforce needs.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Required Education: Associate's Degree and 0-3 years’ experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Discipline/Major: Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Oral and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Time management skills. Negotiation. Candidate screening. Sourcing. Applicant tracking system. Employment authorization. Employment law. Full-cycle recruiting. Interviewing. Talent assessment. Candidate experience delivery.
  • Critical Professional Related Technical Skills; Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
