The Garland Team is seeking a Specialist-Welder on First (1) Shift and Second (2) Shift.

Major Position Responsibilities

Position: Specialist - Welder

Shift: 1st and 2nd shift 

Pay: $27.57 hourly

 

Essential Duties:

  • Must be able to use welding equipment.
  • Make adjustments to produce the maximum quantity of weldments without compromising quality or workmanship.
  • Check parts and review quality to pre-determined standards.
  • Knowledge and ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications and SOI’s
  • Responsible for inputting data into the CIMA system for accurate labor reporting and part tracking.

 

Basic Qualifications

Skills and qualifications required including but not limited to the following:

  • High school education or equivalent combination of experience
  • Texas Driver License.
  • Knowledge of MIG Pulse welding
  • Ability to perform all steel welding functions as required by job tasks.
  • Welding experience in bomb weld lines.
  • Ability to perform any mechanical tasks as required by job assignment.
  • Use of welding equipment, Knowledge and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Functional math skills required to complete job tasks, communication skills, basic computer skills and welder certification training.
  • Ability to use all gages and instruments required to related job tasks.
  • Must have normal vision or correctable to perform job tasks.

** Must pass 3 of 4 GMAW Flat 1G weld tests.

 

Work Environment:

  • Elevated temperatures, thick smoke, dirt and grease.
  • Physically able to lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Handling materials up to 900 degrees with proper tools.
  • High paced production environment to meet standards. 
  • Push/pulling of large pipe casings
