Performs economic research and studies of rates of return, depreciation and investments | Analyzes profit-and-loss income statements and prepares reports and recommendations to management | Generates forecasts and analyzes trends in sales, finance and other areas of business | Researches economic progressions to assist the organization's financial planning | Creates financial models of "what if" scenarios for future business planning decisions in areas such as new product development, new marketing strategies, etc. 

 

Major Position Responsibilities

This position will be located at the new GD-OTS facility located in Mesquite, TX.  This position is required to be on-site. 

 

SUMMARY: Performs economic research and studies of rates of return, depreciation and investments. Analyzes profit-and-loss income statements and prepares reports and recommendations to management. Generates forecasts and analyzes trends in sales, finance and other areas of business. Researches economic progressions to assist the organization's financial planning. Creates financial models of "what if" scenarios for future business planning decisions in areas such as new product development, new marketing strategies, etc.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts quantitative analyses of information affecting budgets, expenses, and other financial projects of public or private institutions 
  • Collects and analyzes financial information for assigned accounts, products or product lines, or business units in order to track the organization's progress against financial goals.  
  • Reports current or expected financial performance and creates financial models to guide decision making.  
  • Analyzes cash flow, expenditures, revenue, depreciation, and investments to make recommendations for action and/or modifications regarding financial procedures, plans, and controls.  
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, or annual financial statements.

Basic Qualifications

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate's Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance and/or Equivalent Combination of Relevent Education and Experience
  • 5-7 years prior experience in a similar position
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree with discipline/major in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Analytical thinking skills and statiscical knowledge.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and detail oriented. 
  • Microsoft Excel and database query capabilities. 
  • Must be able to gather data from multiple sources and synthesis/present findings and recommendations to a variety of audiences.
  • Specific Skills desired for Mesquite:
    • Project Management experience

 

Preferred

  • Experience with start ups, such as project planning, and establishing business processes, management systems, and work instructions is desired. This is an exciting opportunity to create the business processes, systems, and culture to stand up a high performing manufacturing operation.

 

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. 
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

 

Travel Requirements

  • No or very little travel likely.
