Overview

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems produces high-quality, high performance gun systems for a broad spectrum of land, sea and air applications. We are an industry leader in the development and production of single and multi-barrel gatling guns, individual crew-served weapons, ammunition handling systems, shipboard defense systems, gun pods and loaders.

 

The Programs Sr Manager Plans, monitors and manages internal programs from initiation through completion | Leads or coordinates programs, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting, troubleshooting and indirect people management |  Monitors performance and recommends schedule changes, cost adjustments or resource additions | Responsibilities are within the Project Management Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Has P&L responsibilities for a specific program
  • Implements and administers one or more corporate programs, typically consisting of multiple programs or sub-programs.
  • Executes programs that meet the needs of the organization or its employees or customers.
  • Participates in all aspects of corporate programs, including planning, budgeting, staffing, and performance.
  • Promotes the program throughout the organization and tracks utilization.
  • Supervises the work of program or project staff to ensure that work in completed on time or in accordance with established standards or specifications.
  • Evaluates program effectiveness by collecting and analyzing data in support of key performance metrics.
  • Ensures that activities are in compliance with organizational policies and any relevant external regulations.
  • Provides reports and updates to senior management or other stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

Required Education:  Associates Degree and/or Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience

Preferred Education:  Bachelor's Degree

Discipline/Major:  Business Degree preferred

Years of Experience:  8 - 10 years
