General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, a premier provider of ordnance weapons and tactical systems to the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations, has an opening for an onsite Material Planner/Scheduler (Matl Plan/ Sched Partner I) to join our Scranton, PA Team. The Material Planner/Scheduler will be responsible for starting inventories at the site, order critical spares for machinery, responsible for the general ordering for maintenance department while overseeing plant tool crib, assist with receiving inventory.

 

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Performs clerical functions to assist material planning/ scheduling in coordinating raw materials for efficient production.
  • Uses MRP system to monitor and track materials from purchasing, processing, warehousing, and production.
  • Inputs material needs, including all codes, brands, and contact information necessary to process orders in system or database.
  • Tracks and develops reports to monitor performance metrics such as inventory levels, scheduled deliveries, and supplier performance.
  • Resolves simple issues or errors and escalates larger problems to necessary supervisors

Basic Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 0-3 year experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to solve practical problems while working independently
  • Must be proactive and a self motivating individual contributor, highly computer literate with experience working in a cross fucntional work environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to present information if required, ability to work in a team environment and interact with staff, departments as well as vendors in an effective, positive and professional manner

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in heavy industrial environment
