Overview

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), a premier provider to the US Department of Defense and allied nations, is seeking an Accountant II to join our Folsom or Healdsburg, California team. 

 

In this role you will perform general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and capital expenditure schedules. The position also prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles. The Accountant II provides financial support, including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations from budget. The role analyzes and prepares statutory accounts, financial statements and reports and conducts or assists in the documentation of accounting projects. Additional key responsibilities may include internal auditing, CAS/FAR/GAAP/FAP compliance, and Sarbanes Oxley reporting. Work includes problem solving and advanced use (tables, pivots, vlookup, etc) of Excel and journaling entries (debits/credits) and financial statements.

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded.
  • Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.
  • Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports.
  • Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.

Basic Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in each of the following: account reconciliation, balance sheet analysis, bank reconciliation, calculate depreciation, financial accounting, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, month-end close, quarter-end close, revenue recognition, spreadsheets, year-end close, GAAP standards, and experience with accounting software

Pay Range (USD)

$65,450 - $121,550 annually

Additional Compensation

Hired applicant may be eligible to participate in the Company’s Gain Sharing Program.

PTO, Holiday, and Family Leave
