Overview

GD-OTS is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer II to join our Lincoln, NE organization. We are expanding rapidly and looking for motivated and creative individuals who want to help support and shape this organization as we grow.

 

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems provides reliable and affordable composite products to the defense and commercial aerospace markets. With more than 50 years of expertise, General Dynamics designs, develops, manufactures, and tests a full range of composite missile and space structures, including rocket motors, pressure vessels, launch tubes and fuel tanks.

 

A Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for planning for the fabrication of new products, improving the fabrication processes for existing products, and working with/teaching Operators to build quality products that meet the Design requirements.

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Provide and assist manufacturing floor with support, problem solving, operator training.
  • Write and revise manufacturing work instructions as necessary.
  • Plan and coordinate new product builds, flow diagrams, manufacturing readiness reviews.
  • Collaborate with the program team to improve quality, yield, efficiency, and meet customer schedules.
  • Support customer technical interchange meetings through planning and coordination of materials and information.
  • Support and execute root cause corrective actions with the manufacturing floor and leadership teams.
  • Research, develop and execute continuous improvement initiatives in coordination with site leadership.
  • Determine and record non-conformance dispositions.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering or other technical fields.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and Outlook is a must.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • The ability to work in a team environment is critical.
