Overview

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you are expected to provide support to manufacturing for products in production. You will work cross functionally with design engineering to help resolve issues, quality engineering as part of MRB to support disposition of non-conformances, operators to help solve issues and identify process improvement opportunities, program management on scope and budget of your support, planner/buyers/suppliers to resolve part issues, and peers for review of proposed process and tooling changes.

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Understand and exercise your role in providing a safe working environment for assembly and test.
  • Design, review, and/or validate jigs, fixtures, gauges, and other tools that are for production and/or inspection of products.
  • Develop and design 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks, drafting standards, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Support manufacturing at Material Review Board (MRB) in determining material disposition and determine root cause and recommend corrective action.
  • Design and implement lean process flows, assembly tooling, test equipment, and work area requirements.
  • Develop and write assembly and test procedures, ensuring engineering requirements on assembly drawings are being met.
  • Draft, review, and/or translate work instructions (to Spanish) with images to support production.
  • Interface with design engineering and suppliers to provide solutions to technical problems in manufacturing.
  • Review designs for manufacturability and assembly.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction plans on an ongoing basis.
  • Present manufacturing status to customers and management.
  • Lead failure analyses using tools such as 5 Whys.
  • Provide labor & material estimates for program Estimate to Complete (ETC).
  • Manage improvement projects.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering (Electrical-Mechanical or Mechatronics, Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, or similar) and 0 - 4 years of similar work experience.
  • SolidWorks proficiency
  • DFMA (design for manufacturability and assembly) experience is a plus
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma training a plus
  • Ability to effectively communicate with production associates, build relationships, and work within cross functional teams
  • Experience with MS Office tools
  • Excellent Interpersonal/Communication Skills:
  • Understanding of Geometric Tolerancing and Analysis (GD&T)
  • Familiar with MRB processes is a plus
  • Familiarity with assembly and test processes
  • Familiarity with outside part fabrication, finishing and assembly processes
  • Language Ability
    • Bilingual: English-Spanish is a plus

Pay Range (USD)

$49,700.00 - $92,300.00

Additional Compensation

Hired applicant may be eligible to participate in the Company’s Gain Sharing Program.
