This position is focused on Operation Excellence and includes the following responsibilities:  Reducing waste and non-valued added process steps, and reducing process variation through the application of statistical methods | Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements | Researches best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data | Collects and analyzes process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity and reduced cost | Determines how new information technologies can support reengineering business processes | May specialize in one or more of the following areas: benchmarking, business process analysis and reengineering, change management and measurement, and/or process-driven systems requirements

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Studies organizational processes and operations and develops quality and efficiency improvements.
  • Evaluates internal processes and identifies opportunities for improvements and reduce non-value added processes.
  • Gathers data for key performance indicators for functions being reviewed, evaluates current state, and proposes future state goals and objectives.
  • Measures results of implemented improvement strategies and modifies continuous improvement programs in response.
  • Assists in the development and delivery of continuous improvement related training programs.
  • Applies statistical and LSS methodologies to identify root cause and corrective/preventive actions.

Basic Qualifications

 

Required Education:  Associate's Degree OR Equivalent Combination of Relavent Education & Experience

Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree

 

Discipline/Major: Computer, Software or Systems Engineering degree preferred

 

Additional Certifications: Lean, Six Sigma, or related certification preferred.

 

Years and Area of Experience (required for the role): 5-7 years experience Manufacturing Engineering, Project Management, CI/OpEx, or other Operations roles.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to work as part of a team. Problem management. Judgement. Detail oriented. Attentiveness. Project management skills. Critical Professional Related Technical Skills; Computer Skills: Proficient with use of Microsoft Office at a High Level. Experience with Statistical methods and tools, such as DOE, pareto, histograms, process capability, regression analysis, and use of minitab.
