General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, a premier provider of ordnance weapons and tactical systems to the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations, has an opening for a Finance Analyst Intern to join the Tactical Systems Finance team at our General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) headquarters in St. Petersburg, FL.

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Consolidate and review budgets, financial forecasts, strategic plans, statistical reports, cash flow projections and business forecasts from multiple reporting locations.
  • Coordinate frequently with all levels of management from reporting locations to gather and analyze needed financial data.
  • Assist organization's senior management in the development of the corporate budget, strategic plan, and other corporate financial requirements.
  • Comply with all Government, corporate and business unit policies, procedures and regulations
  • Follow requisite procedures in completing tasks assigned related to Finance activities
  • Researches interpretation of financial policies, corporate policies, governmental regulations, finance/accounting theory, or customer financial regulations
  • Analyzes financial information to determine present and future financial performance
  • Perform data analytics to aid in the improvement of processes and/or development of corrective actions
  • Research Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled or accepted into a 2-4 year accredited college or university or have graduated in the last 6 months
  • Completed at a minimum their sophomore year in college majoring in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work well with a diverse employee population are essential
  • Must demonstrate organizational and prioritization skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, using discretion and independent judgement
  • Responds promptly to customer needs
  • Demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles with a sense of urgency
  • Works within the highest level of integrity and safety
