Overview

Starting Hourly Rate: $20 per hour.

 

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) is looking for an experienced Intern-NDT Technician (NonDestructive Testing) to join our Lincoln, NE organization. We are expanding rapidly and looking for motivated and creative individuals who want to help support and shape this organization as we grow. 

 

GD-OTS provides reliable and affordable composite products to the defense and commercial aerospace markets. With more than 60 years of expertise, GD-OTS designs, develops, manufactures, and tests a full range of composite missile and space structures, including rocket motors, pressure vessels, launch tubes and fuel tanks. This is a Year-Round Internship located on-site at our facility in Lincoln, NE.

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Support the NonDestructive Testing department. 
  • Under the supervision of the NDT Level 3 or Level 2 duties would include:
    • Perform Computed Radiography Inspections
    • Perform Ultrasonic Inspections (A-Scan & C-Scan)
    • Perform Penetrant Inspections
    • Interfacing as required with Engineering, Manufacturing and Production personnel.
    • Helping to solve manufacturing problems from NDT results.
    • Other related duties as required.

Basic Qualifications

  • Working towards completion of an Associate Degree in NonDestructive Testing.
  • Completed Radiation Safety training through an approved curriculum that meets the requirements of the Department of Health and Human Services for the State of Nebraska.
  • Good work ethic, self-motivated, good people/communication skills, excellent attitude and Team mentality.
  • Position may be on 1st, 2nd or 3rd Shift.
  • This is a Year-Round Internship located on-site at our facility in Lincoln, NE.
