General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, a premier provider of ordnance weapons and tactical systems to the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations, has an opening for a Quality Technician 11 to join our Wilkes Barre, PA Team. Develops policies, procedures, and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components and/or operations | Develops, assures and maintains the quality of products and processes through standard procedures & systems (e.g., ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14000 & AS9100 standards), quality audits/ review process, etc. Responsibilities are within the Quality Assurance Methods Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines

 

 

Major Position Responsibilities

 

 

 

  • Define and specify activities, processes, and standards to fulfill the quality requirements for materials, components, or products.
  • Build and maintain the infrastructure and systems necessary to consistently ensure the timely delivery of quality products.
  • Identifies and addresses any issues with equipment performance.
  • Auditing, monitoring, and determining the quality of manufacturing processes and/or outputs against defined internal and regulatory standards.
  • Reporting and troubleshooting manufacturing process deviations and defects in finished goods
  • Conducts tests on materials or samples to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.

 

Basic Qualifications

 

Required Education: Associate's Degree OR Equivalent Combination of Relevent Education & Experience ; Vocational/Technical Training Degree

 

Preferred Education: Associate's Degree

 

Discipline/Major: Quality or related degree preferred

Years and Area of Experience (required for the role): 2-4 years prior experience in a similar position.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Technical expertise. Ability to identify and seek needed information. Research skills. Problem-solving skills.
