Under limited supervision, the IT Project Management Director will plan, execute, and finalize projects within strict deadlines and established budget. This includes coordinating activities among various stakeholders, including management teams, IT and business team members, third-parties, contractors and consultants.  The IT Project Management Director will also perform crucial activities related to acquiring necessary resources to deliver projects according to plan.

 

Manages all aspects of a diverse IT project or multiple IT projects, typically involving multiple Disciplines in the IT Function. Utilizes expertise and leadership skills to direct staff and to resolve issues to ensure project goals and requirements are met. Typically uses Scrum/Agile development techniques and tools for team collaboration, issue tracking and backlog management.

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Directs, coordinates and completes projects in the Information Technology department.
  • Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies for the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations.
  • Preparation of evaluation-ready projects
  • Monthly or annual reporting based on information collected from the project teams
  • Manages technical and non-technical aspects of the project.
  • Plans, schedules, and ensures timely completion of the project.
  • Assembles project teams and manages resource allocation and day-to-day operations of the project.
  • Serves as liaison between team members and management team regarding projects.
  • May also develop full cycle organizational change management along with high visibility projects.
  • Manage relationships with the C-suite and assuming the voice of diligence.
  • Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment
  • Recognized as an expert within the company and requires in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline and broad knowledge of other job disciplines within the organization function
  • Solves unique problems that have a broad impact on the business
  • Contributes to the development of organization functional strategy
  • Progression to this level is typically restricted on the basis of business requirements

Basic Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivelant combination of relevant education & experience 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification 
  • 10-12 years of experience 
  • Ability to develop and mentor others. Leadership skills. Management skills. Ability to drive strategic direction. Oral and written communication skills. Ability to build collaborative relationships. Detail oriented. Ability to meet deadlines. Attentiveness. Project management skills. Creativity. Originality. Strong customer service orientation and ability to present ideas in user friendly language
  • Proficent in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Various Project Management platforms

Preferred:

  • Master's Degree 
  • Computer Science or project management preferred 

 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential

Travel Requirements: 

  • Less than 25% travel likely
