General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is looking for an experienced Quality Systems Specialist to join our Lincoln, NE organization. We are expanding rapidly and looking for motivated and creative individuals who want to help support and shape this organization as we grow.


GD-OTS provides reliable and affordable composite products to the defense and commercial aerospace markets. With more than 50 years of expertise, General Dynamics designs, develops, manufactures, and tests a full range of composite missile and space structures, including rocket motors, pressure vessels, launch tubes and fuel tanks.

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of quality management systems.
  • Fully capable of applying principles, concepts, and continuous improvement practices to a specific quality function.
  • Possesses general knowledge of related quality disciplines or functions.
  • Work performed with minimal supervision incorporating multiple disciplines. Guided by policies and precedent.
  • Individual contributes to or may function in a quality project leadership role. May represent organization with peers in outside organizations.
  • Manage the quality and prompt completion of data solutions related to the quality metrics.
  • Drive the use of metrics for data driven decisions towards defect reduction across programs.
  • Complete process checks within the quality department and other departments as requested.
  • Assist all Quality Engineers in program specific metrics and non-conformance reduction efforts as needed.
  • Work in tandem with Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) department in scheduling of internal audits and ensuring timely completion of scheduled audits relating to EH&S compliance requirement.
  • Facilitate Management reviews in a manner such as to capture program related action items.
  • Responsible for the scheduling and ensuring the on-time completion of required internal audits.
  • Supports Customer Assessments/Audits as necessary.

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate degree required.
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study preferred but not required.
  • 0-3 years of experience working in a quality-related field in a manufacturing related environment.
  • High integrity, self-directed/motivated, able to act independently using experienced judgement in decision making, work with minimal supervision, communicate appropriately, well organized with thorough attention to detail.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Additional Certifications/Knowledge Preferred: ASQ Quality Auditors, RABQSA Lead Auditor Certification, IS9001/AS9100.
